Best Gluten Free Breads 2023

by Kayla King

I was diagnosed with celiac disease when I was 9 years old. When I was a kid, gluten-free bread tasted like cardboard. It has come such a long way. My favorite breads have always been found at gluten-free bakeries but I will break down which ones I’ve tried and a full review of each.

Canyon Bakehouse (9/10) – Best Overall

Canyon Bakehouse is a great reliable source of gluten-free bread. I will say I’m not IN LOVE with the taste BUT this is usually the brand I buy because the taste is pretty good, it’s accessible in many grocery stores and is one of the more affordable brands. I also like that they have a wide slice option because gluten-free bread is always SO small. I recommend buying in bulk and throwing it in your freezer. That’s why I like to get mine from Amazon.

Schär Deli Style (8/10) – Best Tasting

Schär bread is my personal favorite out of grocery store bread I’ve found. Their deli-style bread is super large and makes me feel like I’m eating a real sandwich. I also love the taste, especially toasted. My only beef with this brand is there are only a few slices per pack and it’s super expensive. If you have the money to splurge I say go for it. For me, I only get it on occasion when I have a little extra cash.

Trader Joes Gluten Free Bread (6/10) – Smallest lol.

I just can’t get over how small these bread slices are. The taste isn’t bad but it is half the size of my hand. I can’t get with it. I like that it’s convenient and more of an affordable brand though. I also find it usually doesn’t have as many holes.

MyBread (7/10) – Best Quality

This is honestly a really solid bread. I just can never find it (so not accessible). I use this brand more for their pita than actual bread slices. I find that it’s thick and more of a bakery-quality product.
